Carrots go incognito in junk food packaging to lure teens

by mtitcomb@redpeakgroup.com

Bolthouse Carrots has gotten inspired by junk food with their new Shake n’ Bake style treat.  In an effort to get attention from teens, the carrot company has decided to go the direction of processed foods with its “Eat Em’ Like Junk Food” campaign.  The Bolthouse Shakedown packaging contains ranch seasonings that can be shook to coat the carrots inside.  To accompany the new teen-centric product come rowdy pool party ads that feature the snack getting tossed around, much like you would imagine Doritos or a candy bar.

The effort has not been in vain as Bolthouse, also known for its premium juices and smoothies, has been acquired by the Campbells Soup Company.  The Shakedowns are currently only available in select cities but are expected to be rolled out nationwide in three main flavors: Ranch, Chili Lime, and Salsa.
