Biometric ATMs

by Megan Meagher

Japan's Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank will allow customers to withdraw money from ATMs with no identification other than their palm print and PIN number. The bank was inspired by times of disaster when cardless banking can ensure consumers still have access to their accounts.

Most biometric ATMs still require use of a bank card, but Ogaki Kyoritsu's ATMs simply require that you register ahead of time at a local branch. Then when you need money, the ATM simply scans your palm to identify you.
